Snow is already falling over west central Iowa early this morning and will continue to move eastward into central and parts of east central Iowa through this morning. Snow will fall fairly heavily for a few hours at locations within this band, coinciding with the morning commute in many areas and increasing hazardous travel impacts. Plan for a slower than normal commute time this morning as roads become quickly snow covered with reduced visibility until the snow tapers off in the late morning to afternoon. Snow totals will generally be between 2 to 4 inches within the band of heavier snowfall between roughly Highway 30 and I-80.
