Both of the Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads fell to Murray on Friday. The girls dropped their first game back from break 55-32. Coach Kelsey Goff told KNIA Sports they could not find a good rhythm and came out flat. Plus Goff added missing 16 free throws did not help either. Addi Wadle led the Saints with 12 points and Kesley Reed grabbed 13 boards, Maddy DeJong had ten rebounds along with eight points. The boys fell to Murray 42-30. The Saints got down by as many as 13 points early and were as close as seven at the end of the 3rd quarter but could not get any closer. Drew Heaberlin scored 14 points and had eight rebounds. Reece Chiabotta scored in double figures with ten. Coach Matt Bennett told KNIA Sports his team was much better in the turnover department, but went cold shooting in the later stages of the game. Both Melcher-Dallas Squads embark on a busy stretch next week starting Tuesday against Ankeny Christian.
