A Pleasant Hill man faces felony charges for alleged break-ins at the Pella Aquatic Center this past summer. According to court records, 29-year-old Nicholas James Billings is accused of attempting to break into two separate vehicles, and stealing a purse from one of them. The Pella Police Department was able to track down the owner of the van that Billings was possibly spotted in. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office investigated a separate incident that occurred on the same day as the alleged burglaries in Pella. The department looked into a theft that they say occurred at the Cordova Park parking lot, in which the owner claimed her front window was also broken into. Officers were able to connect Billings to Candice Albondante, who faces several burglary charges in Polk County. Billings is charged with two counts of 3rd degree burglary, and criminal mischief — both class D felonies, as well as attempted 3rd degree burglary, theft in the 5th degree.
