The Norwalk bowling teams split Monday’s dual meet against Gilbert at Perfect Games in Ames. The Warrior girls improved to 4-1 on the season with a narrow 36-pin victory, defeating the Tigers 1,829 to 1,793. Senior Julia Palen led Norwalk with a two-game series of 279. Gilbert won the boys dual 2,582 to 2,459, dropping the Warriors to 2-3 overall. Norwalk’s Blake Halsted led all bowlers with a two-game series of 419. The Norwalk bowlers return to action on Saturday morning at Oskaloosa.
The Norwalk basketball teams and the boys wrestling squad will end their holiday break tonight. The Warriors host Dallas Center-Grimes in a girl-boy basketball doubleheader at the NPECC. The girls game starts at 6:00 p.m., followed by the boys game at 7:30. Both contests can be heard live on 94.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com (KNIA3). Pregame coverage begins at 5:45. The girls game features a pair of top 10 teams in Class 4A as the unbeaten and third-ranked Warriors take on the seventh-ranked Mustangs.
The Class 3A 11th-ranked Norwalk boys wrestlers travel to Pella for a double dual against the Dutch and Centerville starting at 5:30.
