The year 2025 has started out very well for two Newton men who have claimed big Iowa Lottery prizes..
Daniel Bragg of Newton claimed his $150,000 top prize in the “Money Gift” scratch game, the same day Marshall Ramsey claimed a $10,000 top prize in the “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner” scratch game. Bragg bought his $150,000 winning ticket at Fareway in Newton. Ramsey got his at a Casey’s on Army Post Road in Des Moines.
The Iowa Lottery says Bragg drove a red and rusty 2001 Chevy Suburban with 849,000 miles to lottery headquarters in Des Moines last Thursday to cash in his winning ticket.
“It’s a beater, but hey, it’s done pretty good,”
The 46-year-old Newton man scratched the “Money Gift” ticket on New Year’s Eve and had an immediate thought once he realized how much he won.
“I’ve got to get a car.”
Bragg said he plans to purchase a small pickup truck with his winnings.
Ramsey is the third person to win a top $10.000 prize in Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, a $2 scratch game. He claimed his prize Thursday after Bragg.
