Indianola High School and Simpson College graduate Jake Brend has been awarded the Iowa Sportscaster award from the National Sports Media Association.

Brend currently works for WOI-TV, and graduated from Indianola High School in 2019 and Simpson College in 2023, after playing tennis for the Storm.

The National Sports Media Association, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which seeks to develop educational opportunities for those who are interested in pursuing a career in sports media, through networking, interning, mentoring, and scholarship programs.
