Competing for the second time this week, the Newton girls wrestling team travels to Ames tonight for a triangular against  Mason City and the hosts 

In their first action of the week the Cardinal girls picked up three dual wins at the Clarke Girls Duals on Tuesday. Newton earned wins over Knoxville 57-18, over Clarke 58-12, and against West Central Valley 36-27, but lost to Carlisle 61-15. 

Newton coach Chad Garvis feels the entire team is doing a good job of fighting through their matches to the end.

“Wrestling is a tough sport so you have to fight through some things. Fight through adversity. Our girls are doing well in that.”

The Newton girls wrestling teams’ triangular in Ames tonight begins at 5:30 p.m.
