The PCM girls basketball team defeated #7 in Class 1A Montezuma on the road Thursday night as the boys team came up short in a non-conference varsity doubleheader.
The #11 Mustang girls picked up a 59-44 win to improve to 10-2 overall this season. PCM was led by Steenhoek’s 26 points as she knocked down seven three pointers in the contest.The boys team trailed 63-40 at the end of the third quarter but fought back in the fourth quarter outscoring the Braves 15-4 in the frame, but ultimately came up short. The Mustang boys were led in scoring by Gavin Van Gorp and Chase Wagaman who both had 13 points. The PCM boys fall to 4-6 on the season. The boys will be back in action on Monday against Earlham while the girls and boys will both compete on Tuesday against West Marshall.
