The date for next month’s “Ask the Engineer” session at the Jasper County Engineer’s Office has been changed. Jasper County Engineer Mike Frietsch will be available at the Engineers Office to meet with residents and answer their questions at 7 a.m., Noon, and 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 6th. The change comes after the original February date was announced for February 13th.

The new program was initiated last month, with the goal of improving the relationship between the County’s Secondary Roads department and Jasper County citizens. In the process, the County Supervisors hope to create a mutual understanding of the current issues, solutions available today, and reasonable changes that can be made in the future. Jasper County Supervisor Doug Cupples says the program was started by Frietsch, and that it is a great benefit to the county.

“It’s pretty impressive that he is willing to do that. I never have a meeting where we are not talking about gravel roads and our roads. It’s just such an important thing.”

The Jasper County Engineer’s Office is located at 910 North 11th Avenue East in Newton. Additional “Ask the Engineer” sessions are scheduled for April 10th and June 12th.
