Students from Pella and Pella Christian High Schools were challenged to a shooting contest to raise funds for each activities department. The first of two annual Marion County Bank shootouts returned to the Tulip City showdown basketball games on Friday. This group of students raised $4,325, including a half-court make by Lake Cowman. The challenge returns to the second meeting between the Dutch and Eagles later this winter. The event has raised nearly $150,000 for local schools since it started.
