The Twin Cedars Boys Basketball Squad fell to Lamoni last night 52-42. A 17-5 2nd quarter by the Demons was all they needed to get separation. Daxson Powell and Holden Roberts shared high point honors. The Sabers are set to play on the big stage today as the Sabers will take on Murray in Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. The Sabers come in 1-6 on the season. This opportunity to play at the venue where the State Tournament is played is not lost on Coach Kale Rodrigues and says he hopes this becomes an annual thing for his team.
Rodrigues: “Blessed and honored to have this opportunity. I hope we make Wells Fargo Arena happy and proud to have us and I would love this to be an annual opportunity.”
The game comes before the Iowa Wolves game against Rip City. This was supposed to be a varsity double header, but due to low numbers, injuries and the health and safety of the players, the remainder of the Twin Cedars Girls basketball season has been cancelled.
