The Indianola School Board met in regular session Monday, which included scheduling further board educational opportunities from the Iowa Association of School Boards, after a previous board work session earlier this year. Superintendent Tara Paul tells KNIA News the training focused on board members being able to represent the district and constituents of the district.

“Governance and roles. So when people run for school board, they don’t always necessarily know or understand what that role looks like, and how do they represent the people who voted them into that role as well as follow the legal ramifications of that. So that’s the kind of training we are going through right now, what does it mean to be a good board member, what does it mean to follow board policies, and how do we set the stage for where we want to go as a board.”
