Following a busy holiday season, the Pella Opera House is closed to the public throughout the month of January. Executive Director of the Opera House Cyndi Atkins says that they use their downtime in January to reorganize after the Festival of Trees in December and to prepare for their upcoming events.

“We’re in the process of taking down a lot of our Festival of Trees items, the boutique items, the decorations that were up. But we’re also getting ready to do some work here at the Opera House on some window repairs that the public probably won’t see, but in our historic 1900s building, we do have to do some of those repairs occasionally. We’ll also do some paint touch up jobs and things like that during the month of January.”
