As part of his annual county visits, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig made stops in Marion and Warren Counties on Friday.
Secretary Naig was joined by representatives of Easter Seals Iowa for his visit in Warren County to the Dennis Oliver Farm in Milo on Friday morning. Oliver is a beneficiary of Easter Seals programs and assistance, which help farmers and their families with disabilities or special needs. Following his visit to Warren County, Secretary Naig was joined by State Representative Barb Kniff McCulla in Marion County for a stop at The drainEDGE Company in Pella. During his stop in Pella Friday afternoon, Naig and McCulla toured the plant, learned more about the business, and met with the company’s owners and employees. The drainEDGE Company was founded in 2023 by Tyler and Rachel Edge, with the goal of bringing quality drainage solutions and service to the industry. Secretary Naig says that visiting with local farmers and manufacturers goes a long way in helping better understand how to serve them.
“I consider it to be one of the most important parts of my job, to get across the state, meet with a lot of folks, talk to them, hear what their challenges are, and maybe what’s going well. Of course, we just want to do a better job of serving them and the best way to do that is to actually go out and talk and see these businesses.”
