Two of Jasper County’s newest deputies are undergoing training at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Jasper County Sheriff Brad Shutts says Deputies Troy Daehler and Wyatt Dillion were recently hired, along with Deputy Michael Spray.
“Michael Spray is finished with his Academy training and is out on the road. The other two just started their sixteen week academy training last Monday.”
Officer Training Liability Agreements with the three new Jasper County Deputies were approved by the County Board of Supervisors this week. Those agreements require the deputies to re-imbursement the county for a certain percentage of what their Law Enforcement Academy training cost, if they leave the Sheriff’s Department within four years. Resigning within one year is 100% reimbursement, within two years is 75%, within three years is 50%, and within four years is 25%.
