Making the early morning trip to Des Moines Saturday, the Pella Christian bowling teams fell to Norwalk at Air Lanes Bowling Center. The Eagles boys dropped their match 2877-2163, while the girls squad was defeated 2129-1364. Pella Christian head coach Rod Blunck said that while both squads are still working on consistency, he has been pleased with the improvements each member of both teams have shown since the season began. Leading the Eagle boys in the loss was Evan DeJong with a 2 game score of 306, followed by Andrew VanKooten at 297, Logan Nunnikhoven at 287, and Alex VanGorp at 258. The Pella Christian girls were led on the day by Macy Van Der Hart at 296, followed by Bella Pu at 246, AnnaBelle Carter at 201, and Sophie Guo at 177. With the losses, the Eagle boys fell to 1-6 overall on the season while the girls dropped to 0-7. The Pella Christian bowling teams will look to bounce back next Saturday, hosting Newton at Statesmen Lanes in Oskaloosa at noon.
