An Albia resident faces multiple accusations of swapping out medications and taking them for herself at a nursing facility in Pella. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office arrested 36-year-old Jessica Lynn Emerson over the weekend on a warrant for five different charges, including three Class C felonies. According to the criminal complaints filed by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, Emerson worked as a nurse at Hearthstone and allegedly swapped Zofran pills belonging to residents with Oxycodone in November and December and took deliveries of Oxycodone for herself in September and December. She faces charges of unlawfully obtaining a prescription drug, with three of those listed as Class C felonies, as well as wanton neglect of a healthcare facility resident.
