The Awakening Grace Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports families that have endured the loss of a child during pregnancy or infancy, is celebrating their ten-year anniversary in 2025.
Awakening Grace was founded in Orange City in April of 2015, and expanded to open a branch in Pella six years ago. As part of their mission, the organization supports families during their time of loss with various support services including care packages, sessions for physical and emotional support, funeral expense assistance information, and more. Central Iowa Director Amber Beyer says that this year the organization has added virtual support groups and a support Facebook page to be able to better serve those in need of their services.
“So, this is just a space for any parent who has lost a child during pregnancy or infancy to just come together and to find a community of people who have experienced something similar, and along the way, we’re hoping that we’ll also be able to share just some tools to help families continue to grieve and to heal and to remember their baby. And then, the virtual Facebook page is just available at any time for families to connect with one another and to be able to share things that are very unique to their situation.”
