A budget work session was held Monday as the Pella School Board deliberated about reductions planned for the upcoming fiscal year. No formal action was taken, but the board reviewed a series of recommendations made by Superintendent Greg Ebeling to nearly $900,000 in cuts. There was a list of budget support materials and updated projections for the next five years included in the agenda. Formal action will be taken on Monday, January 27th about what to ultimately reduce from the general fund. Following the discussion, a closed session was held about possible expulsion of a student. The board voted to approve an agreement to expel the student, who was not identified in the proceedings.
