Freshman Braxton Jones of the Simpson College men’s gymnastics team has been named the ECAC Rookie of the Week following his performance at the Rocky Mountain Open last Saturday.

Jones also took home Routine of the Week honors after sticking a Kas 1-1/2 on vault in just his second collegiate meet, the biggest vault a Storm gymnast has ever performed. That 14.150 performance combined with a 12.300 on floor helped Simpson to a fifth place finish at the meet.

The Storm are set to host their first home meet of the year on Friday against Navy. Action begins at 6 p.m. inside Cowles Fieldhouse.
