panthers-vs-cancer-2

It is a special night in Knoxville and not because of basketball. The Panthers do host Davis County in a girl/boys doubleheader but it is also the annual Panthers vs. Cancer night. Tonight’s activities will range from basketball to an honor ceremony in between games, and an online auction that is currently live at 32auctions.com. As far as basketball goes the Panther girls are looking to take back a win against Davis County on Monday where the Mustangs won by 25 points. In that game Davis County out rebounded Knoxville 39-27. The Panthers were able to get control early on Tuesday against Clarke and win 46-32. For the class 3A #4 boys, the Panthers are sailing through the South Central Conference with an 8-0 record and beat this same Mustangs squad by 25 points on Monday. However, it was not quite as easy as the score looked. Knoxville held a 32-11 lead after one quarter, but saw its lead dwindle to ten at halftime. Coach Joel Keady now knows how Davis County plays, and he wants his guys to do what they do best, and improve on things that need the work.

Keady: “We trust each other and trust our team’s talent and do that moving forward. We’ve gone over the tape and try to see how we can do things better.”

Tonight’s coverage begins at 6:15 with pregame and the girls tip at around 6:30 on 95.3 KNIA. We will also have the honor ceremony live in between games.
