The Iowa State Patrol has confirmed the death of a 16-year-old who was killed Friday night on Highway 92 after being struck by a vehicle. 

On Friday night, a Jeep Cherokee was traveling westbound on Highway 92 when it lost its wheel. Kyle Burk of Sigourney ran across the highway to retrieve the lost tire and was struck by a Ford Taurus also heading Westbound. Burk was transferred to Knoxville Hospital and Clinics and later passed away. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Clay Township Fire Department, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, and possibly other agencies.
