The Indianola basketball teams traveled to Ankeny Monday night for a road non-conference doubleheader, getting swept by the Hawks the girls losing 65-33 and the boys 81-29.
The Indians girls were outscored 20-8 in the first quarter against the #15 in class 5A Hawks and were not able to mount a comeback, trailing 36-17 at halftime and 46-28 going into the fourth. Madi Grover led the Indians with 8 points.

The boys had much of the same fight, Ankeny jumping out to a massive first quarter lead of 22-4, then leading 46-15 at the half. The Indians continued to struggle, scoring just 14 second half points. Easton McGraw led the team with 11 points.

The girls fall to 5-10 overall and the boys to 3-9, and both teams travel to Oskaloosa tonight for a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader. The games will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner and Rob Hawkins on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 5:45pm, with tipoff at 6.
