The Indianola boys basketball team had one of their best performances of the season in a 79-64 victory over Oskaloosa Tuesday night on the road, while the girls mounted a dominant fourth quarter comeback to earn the sweep 35-28 as heard live on 94.3 KNIA.

The Indianola boys scored 43 first half points as they built a dominant 43-28 lead over Osky getting to the rim and finishing consistently. Osky would mount a comeback attempt in the third quarter getting hot from outside and getting the lead down to eight, but Indianola finished strong and maintained the double-digit lead throughout the fourth. George Blake had 28 points to lead the team, while Easton McGraw and Hayden Schulte had 17 each. Head coach Jeff Ebling said the team was confident in the gameplan and when they finish at the rim the way they did, they are going to be a tough team to beat.

The Indianola girls had a dominant gameplan defensively to keep Osky star Dasia Foster out of the game with constant double teams, holding the all-state caliber player to just three first-half points, but the offense was not to be found for Indianola as the game was tied at five at the end of the first and Indianola holding a slim 13-10 lead at halftime. Both teams found more offense in the third quarter with Osky pulling ahead 28-23, but Indianola would shut out Osky and shot 7/12 from the free throw line to end the contest. Zoey Belt scored 10 points to lead all scorers.

The girls are now 6-10 and 5-3 in conference, while the boys are 4-9 and 4-4. Both teams will play on the road at rival Norwalk on Friday.
