A Knoxville man has been arrested on a felony charge for threatening to burn down an apartment building.

According to court records, on January 17th a Knoxville Police Lieutenant met with the property owners of an apartment building located  in Knoxville. During this meeting, the property owner showed the officer surveillance footage from a common area of the building on January 15th. In the video, the officer allegedly saw and heard a male identified as Brandon Pettyjohn inside the building arguing with a tenant who repeatedly asks him to leave. During the altercation, Pettyjohn allegedly told the tenant that he was going to  burn the building  to the ground. 

Pettyjohn is charged with a class D felony for the threat of arson with an explosive or incendiary device under Iowa Code Chapter 712.8, and a scheduled violation for trespassing.
