The unemployment rate in Jasper County saw no change in the month of December, according to the latest update from  Iowa Workforce Development. The unemployment rate for the county remained at 3.1% last month, which matches the mark from November, but is up from 3.0% in October. There are 17,490 residents employed in Jasper County, while 560 are seeking work and receiving benefits. In 2024, Jasper County’s highest unemployment rate was set in January at 3.9%, while the lowest rate occurred in April at 2.2%. Statewide, Iowa’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate rose to 3.2% in December, which is up from 3.1% in November and 3.0% in December 2023.
