A Knoxville man has been arrested for felony drug possession and possession of a firearm as a felon. 

According to court records, on January 28th Knoxville police officers pulled over a vehicle who was traveling in the wrong lane of traffic. The driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Daniel Pope of Knoxville, allegedly had a box of ammunition in the passenger seat. The officers identified that Pope had been convicted of multiple past felonies. A probable cause search was done on the vehicle and Pope admitted there was a shotgun located in the vehicle. During the search officers found a pill bottle filled with a white crystalline substance which was field tested as methamphetamine. Also located in the vehicle was a pipe with a burnt material inside, a baggie, and a wrapped up dollar bill with more substance that tested positive for methamphetamine. The officers also found the shotgun mentioned by Pope and a .22 caliber pistol in the immediate vicinity of the driver’s seat. 

Pope is charged with two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense, and one charge of possession of paraphernalia.
