PCM senior Adrien Robbins has committed to Drake University to play football and continue his education.
The star running back and defensive back for PCM made the announcement on his personal X page on Tuesday. Robbins was a three year starter for the Mustangs and was electric on the football field putting up eye-popping numbers in his junior and senior seasons. Robbins finished his career with 5,577 career rushing yards, was a four time all-district selection, selected as the all-state offensive MVP twice, and a two time all-state running back selection. PCM fell just short of a state title in 2024 falling to Spirit Lake in the Class 2A semifinals but in the loss Robbins rushed for 290 yards and two touchdowns. Robbins also will now sit 22nd all-time in State of Iowa football history for career rushing yards. In his senior season Robbins rushed for 2,191 yards and 29 touchdowns.
Robbins tells KNIA/KRLS he chose Drake because of the kind of degree he would get from there and the type of people he would be surrounded with. Robbins says the people at Drake are great people with huge goals in life and he wanted to be around that. Drake is a Division 1 FCS football program located in Des Moines who compete in the Pioneer Conference. Drake is coached by Joe Woodley who is coming off a national title as head coach of Grand View University.
