Pella Boys Wrestlers Fall in Senior Night Duals
The Dutch boys wrestling program celebrated their outgoing senior class in between duals with Carlisle and North Polk on Thursday evening. Pella fell 42-27 to the Comets and 56-21 to the Wildcats in head-to-head matchups. Logan Bruxvoort at 175 pounds won both of his matches by pinfall and Hudson Ritzert at 120 won both matches, including a pinfall win against Carlisle. Find full results here. Dutch Bowlers Split Against Bondurant-Farrar
Pella’s bowlers split with Bondurant-Farrar on Thursday afternoon, with the girls winning 2086-1885 and the boys falling to the Jays 2931-2595. The Dutch girls were led by a 345 series from McKenna Salvador and 326 by Cami Smith; Carter Failor led the Dutch at 375, followed by 364 from Jack Weaver. The Dutch are away from competition until February 11th against Norwalk.
Pella’s Ranked Basketball Teams Welcoming Newton
For the first time this winter, both Pella basketball teams will play a doubleheader together while ranked, as the Dutch welcome Newton back for another home twin bill this evening. The #10 Dutch boys and #13 girls will clash with the Cardinals for the second time following a sweep just before Christmas in December.
Pella’s girls are trying to get back on track after dropping four games in a row to ranked opponents, and will do so against a school they haven’t lost to since 2013. The Dutch won the opener 75-47 at Newton.
The Dutch boys are surging into February having won six of their last seven games. Pella hung on late in a 62-57 win against the Cardinals in the first clash.

Dutch Girls Wrestlers Heading to South Tama Today for Qualifying
The Pella girls wrestling team is hoping to send girls to the state meet as they travel to South Tama today. The regional qualifier features several familiar foes from the region in a format that now more closely follows the boys qualifying tournament. Eight teams are competing at the Class 2A regional today. Find live results here.
