The Simpson women’s and men’s basketball teams travel to Wartburg College today for an American Rivers Conference doubleheader. The Storm women gave the #12 Knights one of their best games of the season in conference play, losing only by one point at halftime but only scored 17 second half points to fall by 12. The Storm are currently in a tie for second in the conference standings with Coe, and will need to keep pace with the Kohawks and ahead of fourth place Luther who is just a game behind.
The Storm men stuck with the Knights for the majority of the first half, but against suffered a scoreless streak in the second half on the wrong end of a 14-2 run that would decide the game. The Storm need a win to have any chance of making the conference tournament, sitting a possible five games back with just five games to play.
The doubleheader will be broadcast live on 94.3 KNIA, with Andrew Swadner on the call. Pregame coverage begins at 1:45pm, with tipoff at 2pm.
