The Newton girls and boys basketball teams fell on the road to Pella Christian Tuesday night in a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader heard live on the KRLS3 stream.

The Cardinal girls struggled offensively in the contest as they didn’t score double figures as a team in any quarter. Newton dropped the contest to the Eagles 36-21 to fall to 8-9 overall. The Cardinal girls were led in scoring by Tori White and Alex Garvis who both had six points. 

The Cardinal boys fell down 22-11 at the end of the first quarter and didn’t recover offensively only scoring five in the third quarter as they dropped their contest  62-45. The Newton boys fall to 8-8 on the season and were led in scoring by Landon Bozarth who had 18 points. The Newton girls and boys basketball teams will be back in action on Friday at Oskaloosa.
