Area high schools speech students will participate in the Iowa High School Speech Association’s State Large Group Contests on Saturday. Pleasantville High School had seven entries advance to the State site at Cedar Rapids Washington High School, while PCM High School had six and Melcher-Dallas High School had two that did the same. Norwalk High School had 11 performances advance to the State site at Waukee High School, while Southeast Warren had two entries advance to the State competition. The Iowa High School Speech Association’s State Large Group Contests at Cedar Rapids Washington High School and at Waukee High School are scheduled to start at 8 am Saturday morning.
