The Indianola City Council continues to discuss the priorities for the city facilities plan over the next several years, titled Vision 2030. Interim City Manager Wade Wagoner tells KNIA News the plan is vast, so setting priorities for city needs is a must so they can plan and determine future borrowing capacity, and right now the council wants to focus on a public safety building possibly located at the current city hall site.
“I don’t know how much, if at all, we would modify this building for police and fire. But then the question going forward is what do we do with this site where we are at. Do we tear it down and build a new police and fire facility here, or do we look at other sites? We are trying to wrap our minds around that, and whether or not we need to put a bond referendum on the November agenda. Our timeline is kind of being dictated by that November election.”
