The City of Newton is now seeking applications for the manager of the new Westwood Golf Course Clubhouse. The full-time position includes day-to-day management of the clubhouse, supervising employees, customer service, event coordination, and managing finances at the city owned golf course. The City says hospitality management experience, excellent leadership skills, and evening, weekend, and holiday availability are required. Newton Mayor Evelyn George says Ball Team LLC of Urbandale is finishing up the interior of the 60’x100’ post-frame clubhouse. 

“I have seen some photos of the inside. They are getting it framed up so it will be ready this spring. At least the functional pieces of it.”

Ball Team submitted a low construction bid of $378,000. The clubhouse is to be completed by the end of March. Newton residents approved the project as part of a September 13, 2022 bond referendum.
