Marion County Bank’s halftime entertainment at the Pella Christian vs. Pella basketball doubleheader Friday night earned the schools a $3,325 donation.

Eight students from both schools participated in the event by shooting layups, free throws, three pointers and half court shots to earn the donation from Marion County Bank. The funds raised during the event will be put towards each school’s student activity funds. Since 2004, just over $150,000 has been given to Pella Community High and Pella Christian High from Marion County Bank during the halftime events. The first event this winter raised $4,325, bringing the 2024-25 amount to $7,650.

Prior to the games, Dollars for Scholars hosted the second of two pulled pork suppers to raise funds for financial aid to support graduating Pella, Pella Christian, and homeschool students.
