
Despite no new qualifiers for the Central College men’s track and field team, the Dutch are still near the top of the latest USTFCCCA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Team Rating Index released Tuesday. The Dutch men slipped back just one spot to #12, while on the women’s side, Central is #40.
Kale Purcell leads the way for the Dutch men at #4 in the triple jump (48 feet, 3.25 inches). In the heptathlon, Kale Hobart is #5 (5,019 points) and Reid Pakkebier is #7 (4,970 points). In the 60-meter hurdles, Gunner Meyer is #12 (8.10 seconds), Grant Miller is #14 (8.15 seconds) and Pakkebier is #16 (8.16 seconds). Jack Brown is #22 in the mile (4:13.25).
Peyton Steffen and Addison Parrott improved their stock in the mile, with Steffen sitting at #15 (4:57.27) and Parrott at #26 (4:59.20). Steffen is also #11 (9:40.35) in the 3,000 meters and Parrott is #25 (9:52.46). Women’s pentathlete Olivia Bohlen is fifth with 3,476 points. The 4×400-meter relay squad of Lizzy Van Utrecht, Emily McMartin, Steffen and Ava Parkins is #21 (pre-conversion time of 4:01.1).
Steffen, Parrott, Brown and Derek Webster are headed to the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston this weekend, while the rest of the team is headed to the Darren Young Classic at Grinnell College.
