The class 1A regional journey for the Melcher-Dallas Girls basketball Squad begins tonight at home against a familiar foe, Southeast Warren. The Saints and Warhawks played early this season with Melcher-Dallas winning 31-28. The Saints have had another productive season at 15-5 and winning the Bluegrass Conference regular season championship. The Warhawks finished 8th in the nine team Pride of Iowa Conference with a 7-15 record. Southeast Warren is led by Jessica Lilling, who averages 10.5 points per game while the Saints engine is Addi Wadle averaging 21.4 per game. Saints Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports they are thankful for getting potentially two home games to start off the postseason, and they need to be in one game at a time mode.

Goff: “Staying focused and taking it one game at a time to execute what we need to do to get those home games. We want to stay focused and take it one game at a time.”

The Saints would get another home game should they win playing the survivor of the Murray and East Union matchup on Tuesday.
