With 11 wrestlers making championship bouts across 10 weight classes, the Central College men’s wrestling team was dominant at its home Last Chance Invitational Friday night.
There were 103 total wrestlers from nine different programs in action at the invitational, which was an opportunity for most teams, including Central, to get reserve wrestlers some final competition before the postseason begins. It was an all-Dutch final at both 141 pounds and 157 pounds. Donovan Card took down Luke Spaur in the 141-pound title match, while Duncan Delzell pinned Elijah Belzer for the 157-pound crown. Other title winners for the Dutch were Rheiner Stahlbaum at 125 pounds, Kevin Hogan at 165 pounds, Colby Tool at 174 pounds, Nathan Rosas at 184 pounds and Kyler Hall at 285 pounds. Bryson Spaulding also won a title in the 149-pound white bracket. Additionally, Central had runner-up finishes by Ethan Skoglund at 133 pounds and Cael Cox at 149 pounds.
Central is off for two weeks before heading to Cedar Rapids for the NCAA Division III Region VI Championships.
