The Newton boys wrestling team will be sending four wrestlers to the state meet in Des Moines next week. Nick Millburn (34-16) finished second at 215 pounds while the three other qualifying wrestlers placed third at the district meet in Carlisle Saturday. Kent Montgomery (42-5) advanced at 106 pounds, Abel Aldama (27-16) at 113 pounds, and Lane Rozendaal (34-12) at 157 pounds. Two other Cardinal wrestlers placed fourth, and just missed going to state. They were Aiden Robson at 150 pounds and Coleby Revell at 285 pounds.

As a team, Newton placed 5th with 93 points. The state wrestling meet begins Wednesday, February 19th at Wells Fargo Arena.
