Kicking off postseason play the same way they began the regular season, the Pella Christian boys basketball team will host Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Monday in the first round of Class 2A District 10 play.
The Eagles and Rockets opened the season against one another back on December 3rd, and P.C. dominated the prior meeting. Pella Christian led 33-13 at halftime in the regular season contest, before finishing the game on a 45-20 run to secure the 78-33 win. The Eagles victory was their tenth in the series between the two schools dating back to 2011, and their third consecutive win over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. Coming into Monday night’s postseason contest, Pella Christian is looking to end a three game losing streak to close out the regular season. The Rockets are also looking to end their own losing streak, which spans seven straight games since their lone win over Cardinal on January 24th. Eagles head coach Marv Van Wyk says that despite their early season success against E-B-F, his squad will be focused for the task at hand.
“We’re taking it one game at a time. We’re certainly going to be prepared at each stop and be ready to go, but I’m just really looking forward to seeing what these guys can do.”
Pella Christian’s home district postseason game against Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Monday night will be broadcast live on 92.1 KRLS and the Pella Christian YouTube channel, beginning with pregame coverage at 6:30 pm.
