The Norwalk boys basketball team will be the number 3 seed in Class 4A, Substate 1 when postseason play begins on Monday, February 24. The Iowa High School Athletic Association released its Class 3A and 4A pairings this past Monday.

The Warriors finished the regular season with a 10-11 overall record following Tuesday’s home loss to ADM. They will host No. 6 seed Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson in a first round game on Monday at 7:00 p.m. The Yellow Jackets, who lost to Norwalk in last year’s substate semifinal round, are 3-18 this season. The Norwalk-TJ winner advances to play at No. 2 seed Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln on Friday, February 28. The ninth-ranked Lynx are 18-2 overall.

The top half of the bracket features top-seeded Waukee, Des Moines Lincoln and Indianola. The Substate 1 final is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4.
