The Indianola City Council approved a rezoning request for a Planned Unit Development for Summercrest Hills North at their meeting Tuesday, the property north of the Indianola Wellness Campus. Interim City Manager Wade Wagoner tells KNIA News the rezoning was from Highway Commercial to the Planned Unit Development, which is a unique zoning designation that allows a mix of Highway Commercial and Light Industrial zoning and allows for some flexibility within a multi-use development.

“There’s a development that is proposed that shows athletic facilities, commercial and retail establishments, as well as multi-family residential. This is 38-acres of ground that is being developed, and it is very exciting to see all of the stuff that can potentially be in there. The developer has been a pleasure to work with and we can’t wait to get going on it.”
