The Knoxville Police Department is reminding citizens to not leave their cars running unattended.

During the winter months, many people may leave their cars running unattended to let it warm up, but the department warns that leaving it unattended for just a minute can make you vulnerable to theft. You can protect yourself by always keeping an eye on your vehicle while warming up or waiting to warm it up until you are inside the vehicle.
