Norwalk finished eighth out of 11 teams at Friday’s Two Rivers Conference Boys Bowling Tournament held at Statesmen Lanes in Oskaloosa. The Warriors rolled a team score of 2,650 total pins on the day. Oskaloosa won the conference title with 3,143 pins.

Sophomore Blake Halsted led Norwalk individually with a three-game series of 603, followed by Brytan Bassman’s 587 and Tanner Housley’s 567.

The Warriors’ season is not yet over as they will compete in the Class 2A State Team Tournament on Monday at 3:00 p.m. in Waterloo. Tanner Housley has also qualified for the 2A State Individual Tournament on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.

BASKETBALL:

Postseason play begins tonight for the Norwalk girls basketball team. The fourth-ranked Warriors host Bondurant-Farrar in a Class 4A, Region 5 semifinal at 7:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on kniakrls.com (KNIA3), starting with pregame coverage at 6:45.

Norwalk, which enjoyed a first round bye on Wednesday, enters regional play with a 20-1 overall record. Bondurant-Farrar improved to 7-15 with a 53-29 victory at Des Moines Hoover. The Warriors and Bluejays met earlier this season on November 26, with Norwalk prevailing 68-19.

With a win tonight, the Warriors will host either Pella or Oskaloosa in Tuesday night’s regional final.
