The Indianola Community School District will continue to make priorities for the FY26 budget over the next several weeks, which includes multiple opportunities for the public to voice their opinions in front of the board. District Business Official Chad Vink tells KNIA News the board, like many of the previous boards, has made it a priority to keep the tax levy rate flat so residents know exactly what to expect.

“We’ve had a steady tax rate, we’ve had steady enrollment. We are really in a nice spot where we are not a rural district that is struggling with losing enrollment, but we are not a super growing suburb either that is trying to keep up with staffing and facilities. We are able to grow moderately, and we are looking forward to our new high school facility in the next couple of years.”

The board will have their regular board meeting on March 10th, with another special Budget Hearing taking place on April 3rd at 7am.
