This coming Saturday, Jasper County RSVP’s Tax Filing Assistance Program will begin weekend appointments at the Newton DMACC Campus. Jasper County RSVP Director Sarah Patterson says Saturday appointments are going to be held from 9 a.m. until noon this Saturday, as well as Saturday, March 22nd and Saturday, April 5th. 

“We have been doing taxes for free for a long time. We do have a threshold income of $67,000, and no farm or rental income.”

Patterson adds the program’s volunteers love helping people. April 15th is the income tax filing deadline. Appointments with Jasper County RSVP’s Tax Filing Assistance Program at the Gathering Place in Monroe are also available from 2:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3rd. Call the Iowa State University Extension Office any Tuesday or Wednesday from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm to schedule  appointments. The Jasper County Tax hotline is 641-787-7241.
