Central College men’s track and field athlete Kale Purcell was selected as the American Rivers Conference men’s field athlete of the week.

Competing at the Liz Wuertz Invitational in Waverly this past weekend, Purcell won the triple jump by jumping a new career-best 48 feet, 5.25 inches. The new mark moved him within an inch of the school record and gave him the fifth highest mark in Division III this season.

The Dutch track and field team returns to Waverly this weekend for the American Rivers Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday.
