Despite their final season on Eagle Lane coming to an end, the seniors for the Pella Christian boys basketball team left their mark on the program.
Among the Eagles seven seniors this season were Cooper Spronk, Deacon Branderhorst, Landon Fransman, Wyatt Snyder, Ethan Van Arendonk, Josiah Vink, and Rob Schreur. Since four of this year’s seniors began their varsity careers as sophomores, Pella Christian compiled a 44-30 overall record. Over their four years, Pella Christian reached at least the District Championship game every season, going as far as the Substate Championship game last year, and also making it to the State Tournament semifinals their freshmen and sophomore years. During their careers, the seven seniors combined to record 931 points, 525 rebounds, 162 assists, and 108 steals. Head coach Marv Van Wyk said that while this season featured many highs and lows, this group played a big part in the strides made as a team and continuing to build a strong culture for the program.
“We improved a lot and those seniors were the leaders, not only on the court, but just being great examples of what it’s like to be a great teammate. So I’m just really proud of them and the program’s really going to miss them.”
The Eagles ended their 2024-2025 season with a 10-14 overall record.
