The area has an elevated risk for fires today, according to the National Weather Service. All of the region is under a Red Flag Warning and most of the area is in a wind advisory. Wind gusts of 40-50 MPH are possible, and coupled with warm conditions and low humidity, elevates the risk that any outdoor burns will spread quickly. A temperature roller coaster is possible, with highs today into the low 60s for many, and daytime temperatures dropping into the mid-30s by Saturday afternoon, only to rebound back into the mid-50s by Monday and Tuesday.
