Local high school football teams know a portion of their schedules for the next two years, as the IHSAA released the districts for all classes for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

Indianola and Norwalk moved up to Class 5A for the next two years, and will compete in separate districts. Indianola will compete in District 4 and is joined by Ankeny Centennial, Des Moines Lincoln, Sioux City North, Urbandale, and WDM Valley. Norwalk is in District 1 and is grouped with Des Moines East, Iowa City High, Ottumwa, Southeast Polk, and Waukee Northwest. 

Local Class 4A teams include Pella and Newton, who will both compete in District 4 against Clear Creek-Amana, Grinnell, Marion, and Oskaloosa. 

In Class 3A, Knoxville will see several new teams in District 5. Nevada is the only team that the Panthers will have faced in district play the last two years, and they will be joined by Des Moines Christian, Saydel, Williamsburg, and Winterset.

Pella Christian moved up into Class 2A this year, and will join Highway 163 rival PCM in District 7. The Eagles and Mustangs will be joined by Albia, Centerville, Davis County, and South Tama. 

Pleasantville is the lone area team in Class 1A, and they were grouped with Interstate 35, Ogden, Panorama, West Central Valley, and West Marshall in District 7.

Local Class A teams in Colfax-Mingo, Lynnville-Sully, and Martensdale-St. Mary’s, and they will all compete in District 5 against BGM, Earlham, Madrid, North Mahaska, New Sharon.

The local 8-Man teams of Baxter, Melcher-Dallas, Southeast Warren, and Twin Cedars make up over half of District 7, and will be joined by Montezuma, Moravia, and Wayne.
